Italian Blur

Dear Family,

Well, I was about to send the $100 back to you and ask for you to send it in $20's haha, but I guess I will just try and break it here some time. I only got mail from Mom, Annie, and Leo Masic this last week but that was awesome still! I like getting letters! They are so much fun! So this last week it has been good! Italian is hard and I am finding it hard to understand what the teachers say, but it is way super fun still! I still love learning the language! On Sunday night after the devotional we watched "Joseph Smith: Prophet of the Restoration" and it was awesome! That is such a good movie and has such a strong spirit about it. It was really interesting, while watching the scene where Joseph gets taken out of his house and tarred and feathered I remembered that the Savior has descended below all. It was an incredible thought. You should watch that movie! So GOOOOOD!!!

Truthfully it has been a more difficult week mentally. I have been trying to concentrate so much on the work and keeping everything organized and stuff, and it is just tiring. I love being here though and I love all the learning that goes on. All day we are doing stuff and we have no down time at all really. To me it is kind of a bummer because there is no real time to just sit down by yourself and think. Everything you are suppose to think is given to you. I love the devotionals though, because that requires no interaction and you can just sit there and ponder about something the speaker says. It still would be nice to have alone time. I don't get the time to sit and look at the stars and think. I wish I did. I love the scriptures that you shared with me. Just today I read another scripture that was really cool. I flipped open randomly in the scriptures and landed on D&C 100 verse 12. It was kind of an answer to my prayers. I am grateful for the guidance that I am given by the Lord.

Anyway, my companion is still awesome and I enjoy working with him. We are getting good at teaching lessons and equally sharing things in it. We are still learning and it is fun because I have such a hard time trying to express exactly what I am feeling and it pushes me to learn the language more. This last week we did this thing called TRC, where members come in and we teach them. They don't act like investigators, they are just themselves. It was interesting because it is great practice for the language. We met with two members total and the first one was very nice and talked slowly. The second was a little harder to follow because he talked fast and felt a little less receptive. I look forward to doing TRC this next week. The food is still..... yeah.... it is still something that is really fun. I like cereal. I actually like the burgers they cook also and some of the other little stuff. It is nice coming back at night and eating candy and chocolate that I have been sent. I don't get a whole lot of time to eat it though.

The days already blur into one because we do the same things every day. I still play basketball and I am getting really good at free throws. We have to shoot free throws to get into a game and I am shooting like 8 or 9 out of 10. Tell dad that. But... When I get into the game I usually only make like 2 or 3 shots. Gym time is one of the best times of the day. I like forgetting everything and just thinking about playing basketball. It is a nice time. It only lasts like an hour and then we get back to work learning the Gospel and Italian. They are good days here!

I would like to wish the Twinners a happy birthday, this is to them! You guys are awesome and so much fun! I have loved being your brother and watching you play basketball and grow up! You are the best ever and you are going to grow up so much while I'm on my mission. Happy Birthday Seth! Happy Birthday Jack! Read your scriptures and prepare for your missions. You will be awesome! Love you two!

Thanks for all of the letters, please keep writing them! I love to get them! They really do brighten my day so much! All is well in the MTC! Love you all!

Sincerely,
Anziano Burton

P.S. I wrote Mom and Annie a letter back, it will come soon! Thanks!
