I'm still hanging out at the MTC

Buona Sera Tutti!!!

Another week is down here at the MTC and things are going great Life is so great! We've had some fun things happen this week and I've had a bunch of opportunities to grow and become better prepared to serve the people of Italy. I just barely got back from the Temple and it was a fantastic session! Afterwards as I walked down the Provo, Temple path to the MTC I felt so grateful to be alive. I took in a deep breath looking out over Utah Lake and it just felt amazing! I am so grateful for the beautiful world that we live in. So, every Sunday we are asked in our branch to prepare a talk and then during the Sacrament meeting a boy and a girl are called up to give it. This last week the topic was Baptism and I was having a rough time trying to write the talk. I wrote some simple things down and went to Sacrament meeting. I got to the meeting and the thought kept coming into my mind that I would be the one called on. My heart started pounding and I felt that it would be me. Sure enough, I was called on and I walked up, and started reading my talk. I read two lines, and then read a scripture and from there I completely just went with it. I didn't look down at what I had written after that. In my talk I said how grateful I was to have parents who had raised me righteously so that I could be baptised and take the first step to returning home to heaven. I said how I was so excited to go to Italy and to be the "parents" to the people of Italy and how it is a powerful and wonderful opportunity that I have to go and guide people along the first steps to their returning home. I felt the spirit so strongly during that talk and it was a powerful growth for me and helped me truly see how the spirit will be guiding my words when I speak. It was absolutely incredible!

During my teaching with Anziano Barone this week I felt really good! My Italian is coming along and I am able to slowly but steadily spit out small sentences and testimony to our "investigators" really our teachers. It is so much fun! I feel more confident going into lessons and I am still absolutely loving this language. It is so beautiful and it will be incredible sharing such a beautiful and moving message in such a beautiful and moving language. Italian is the best! The other Anziani in my district are doing well! We work well together and it is really fun being with them.

On Tuesday night we had M. Russell Ballard come and speak to us and that was absolutely incredible! The spirit was so strong afterwards and we all just stood in silence even after he walked out. It was so cool! I am so grateful for Apostles and Prophets on the earth today. They truly are here to guide us and help us along this journey. Another cool thing that I found this week was a new Mormon Message that came out. It is called "Mountains to Climb" or something like that. I would strongly encourage everyone to watch this. It has an incredible message and I felt the spirit so strong when I watched it. I really am grateful for the healing and happiness that comes from this Gospel. It is eye opening and amazing. I can't wait to see the looks on peoples faces when they are healed and brought to a knowledge of their Lord and Savior.

Thanks for sending the blanket and other stuff! That is awesome and I have been sleeping so well the past few nights! It really has been so nice! Unfortunately though, on Monday night the food or something finally got to me and I spent some time at the alter of the toilet. It wasn't that bad though and I had a little bit of extra time the next day to take a nap. I am including some pictures in this email of me and the people in my district. Hope you like them! Keep sending pictures, letters, and everything! I love getting mail! It absolutely makes my day! I love you all! Thanks so much for everything!

Love,

Anziano Burton
