The Weather is Pretty Nice in ITALY

Ciao, da Italia!!!

The weather here has been so nice all week! It feels a lot like california and this week Anziano Badger and I have been able to travel around this area of Italy for various reasons. First of all, I would just like to make a note about the Pizza here... It tastes like heaven and I find myself craving it all the time. For those of you who may be coming to Italy soon, Napoli Pizza is the best in the world, but you have to know where to go when you get here. Dont just go to any ordinary Pizzeria, make wise decisions, it makes all the difference. So today and last week we went to a place called Sorbillos... They have the best Pizza in the entire world. (Beware, there are two Sorbillos on the same street, one has amazing and the other not so much... I will post pictures of the one I went to so that you know where to go) Life is great here and the food is as amazing as you imagine!

So Napoli is a way fun city, it is kind of gross, kind of smelly, but at the same time it is really fun to go walk around and see all of the shops and stuff. We have spent quite a bit of time with the other Anziani in Napoli walking around on the last two Pdays. It is nice! This week we also traveled with the senior couple. First off into the beautiful Italian countryside to teach a less active American woman. It was so cool driving through the rolling hills. We stopped in this little town on the top of a hill and asked around and ended up going to one of the best Pizzerias we have ever been to. Later on in this week we drove with the Senior Couple again down to a city called Sorrento down the coast from Napoli. It is just another classic Italian city with little shops and everything. Something really special in that city is that they make incredible music boxes by hand. They have all sorts of really cool designs and stuff. The songs in them are classic Italian music and it is way fun! The view from the cliffs that Sorrento sits on is beautiful. It just drops off into the perfect blue Mediterranean.

Today for our Pday we decided we wanted to hike up Vesuvio. It was way cool! It is huge and just towers over Napoli and the surrounding cities. When we started hiking it was really foggy, but when we got to the top and the crater it cleared up and was really nice. Everything here is just so old and so historic. It is way interesting walking down any street or over any hill because there was like some great ancient castle or temple everywhere.

General Conference was really fun!!! I watched half of it in English and half of it in Italian. So I understood like half of it. It was really great! We had a couple investigators come to the Church and watch it with us. It turned out really well. Right now we are making a lot of progress in the work it feels like. We have a baptismal date for an African woman named S* here on the 27th of April and we are pretty sure that this wont fall through because her sister and sisters husband are very strong members. We also have a baptismal date for the 18th of May I think. It is for an Italian older man named N*. We are teaching a lot of other people once a week and we recently found another African lady named I* and she is really interested in the Church and was so happy that we gave her a Book of Mormon. She came to conference and I think that very soon we will have another baptismal date for her. It is funny here, we get so many strange looks from people. Half the time it is because we are wearing suits and are missionaries, the other half is because we are American. All the teenagers here love America and all say that they want to go to New York and California. It is funny because tons of the teenage boys wear their way cool New York Yankees hats all over and nearly all of them could not say what team the logo is for, let alone the sport. It is so cool here, every day I find myself walking down another "Italian" street. So much here is exactly what you imagine.

Sorry that I dont put pictures on my blog super fast. It takes a while for them to upload. I hope to get caught up this week. I have a ton to put on. Caserta has so many cool places to go and I love it! Anziano Badger and I are working hard and we are working well together! I dont really know what else to say. Being a missionary is the best thing, and being it in the Rome Italy Mission... Well, what else needs to be said? It is so much fun here!

I hope all is well back home! Keep being awesome and writing emails and letters. I still havent gotten any letters here... Dont know if it is because they are lost, they havent been sent, or other reasons. The way Italy is run is the only downside to the country. Well, Love you Dad, Mom, Sam, Annie, Seth, and Jack!!! Keep being the best!!!

Oh, and with this nice weather here... I miss Golf.

Sincerely,

Anziano Burton di Caserta
