Buon Giorno Tutti!
Di Nuovo, abbiamo fatto bene a Cagliari!
Well, as for our work. Things in Cagliari are going pretty well! It has been a good week and we are starting to see some good successes again. Anziano Davids and I are working well and we are seeing good things. This week we were able to visit the P* family and spend an evening with them. We had a late lunch and then afterwards we taught them the Plan of Salvation. It went really really well! A* had a lot of questions about a lot of things and we were able to answer them and help him understand everything pretty well. As usual M* accepted everything pretty simply and didn't have any big questions. She was nodding her head for a lot of the lesson. The spirit was there and it helped out a lot and I feel like we are going to start seeing some big progress with this family.
This week we also met with a guy named C* for the first time. He is a referral from the Sisters and he is a really nice guy. We taught him the Restoration with one of our members, FV*. It went well and he has accepted the commitment of reading and praying about the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. It will be great to meet with him again this week. He is a nice man.
Also, another good success this week, we met with a man named B* from English Course. He is really nice and we were able to explain to him about the Book of Mormon. He is interested in who we are and what we believe, so we will be meeting with him this week and that will be great to teach him the lessons. He is really nice and always has a smile on his face.
Unfortunately, we still haven't been able to meet with G*, O*, and E*. They have dropped off the map a little and it has been hard. G* lives with a bunch of African people in his house. When we went to find him we showed up and there was just an African guy. We went in and started talking about the restoration with him. Right as we were about to go into the part about Joseph Smith a bunch of other African friends showed up. One was a Jehovah's Witness and the rest of the lesson was just countering his questions trying to shoot down the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith. He had a lot of memorized scriptures that were pretty cutting. Ironically, when I returned home and looked up the scriptures, every one that he used was taken far out of context and if we had just read a little bit more on each we would have understood. It was nevertheless annoying to take a bit of a bashing.
Also, earlier this week I had the wonderful opportunity to go on a scambio with Anziano Rasmussen. It was really great! I went up the Oristano and it was a good scambio. I learned a lot about how to do better studies and we had a great time! Yesterday we had a fireside with all of the youth and we had about 10 youth show up from English Course. it was really fun and there was a great spirit. It has been overall a pretty great week here in Cagliari. Some little speed bumps, but overall we are powering onward and upward. It is incredible!
Here are some pictures of what we did last P-Day, we hiked to a point called Devils Saddle. Pretty cool!
Love you all! You are the best!
Thanks for all of your support and everything! Italy is pretty stinking nice!
Sincerely,
Anziano Burton
