Albania!!!

BUONGIORNO TUTTI!!!

Well, this week we have seen some awesome things! Like some really just exciting things! Anziano Petersen and I are pretty excited for the future! So, to start off, our investigator G* came back from Albania and came to Church and then afterwards we all had lunch together. During lunch he told us this amazing story about his trip to Albania! He was with his brother and he was talking with him. He asked the brother if he was still Muslim and the brother said no. He asked if he was catholic and the brother said something along the lines of, "No, to tell you the truth I am a Mormon." G* was soooo excited and he told his brother how he had been meeting with us and preparing for the 17th of May. I guess the brother has been a member for something like 10 years or something. It is a huge miracle and it is so cool! G* was so happy and he told us that after this talk with his brother they all went out to eat just to celebrate the surprise news. G* is such a good guy. We have been lacking some supplies this transfer, so we went onto LDS.org and printed the pamphlets for him to read in Albanian. He is very set on being baptized and he is working hard to understand everything. We are hoping that we will be able to meet with him enough times before the 17th. Unfortunately, we may have to move it back a little bit to help him understand everything. We told him this and he told us we can only move it once because he doesn't want to set another date after this, he just wants to be baptized. We are very happy with his progress. It is slow because of the language barrier, it takes a while to teach, but the pamphlets are explaining basic doctrines perfectly. He studies them in Albanian and Italian and then teaches us the things that he learned. He is awesome! The situation with his wife is a little difficult still, but we are working to overcome that. We are happy.

This week we also met with M* again, we helped sort out some concerns about the Book of Mormon and he is a lot more happy now. He sees how it ties into the bible. We are hoping to help him out. It is hard to teach him because he talks a ton, but we are making progress slowly. He still needs to read the book of Mormon more, but he knows this and he also knows that he needs to come to Church with us. He told us that he needs to come without us asking him. Hopefully this next week he will be able to make it. He is a good guy, but we have to teach everything for him to understand and accept it. We tried teaching simple prayer but he says he wants to know exactly what the Book of Mormon is before he prays about it. We are trying to help him with that. This week we also got two new investigators, L*, the son of a recently baptized man and an African from Senegal named A*. Both are pretty cool and we are looking forward to meeting with them this upcoming week. It will be great! Unfortunately, SN* sent us a text and said she is really busy with school and we haven't been able to meet with her since. We are worried for her. Also, Ma* has kind of dropped off the map, we haven't been able to get in contact with him for a while. We are thinking of letting him rest for a while, and then we will try again. Overall, this week we have done a stinking lot of finding. It has been kind of hard, and we haven't seen any success really come from it. We have only seen success in other areas of our work, which is still really good. I am sure everything is tied together in the work we put in and the success we see. Well, really, a pretty great week! Anziano Petersen and I are doing great and we are having a good time here in Lecce. The work is moving forward.

Well, thanks for all the love and support everyone! It is awesome to be out here serving with so much help back home! Family, talk to you soon! I am excited for skype haha! Love you all!

Sincerely,

Anziano Burton
