What's Chill? Not the Weather...

Buongiorno Tutti!!!

Well, It has been another good and warm week down here in Lecce. Things here are really looking good and we are happy! Unfortunately, we did have some rough spots, but overall, things are good!

Unfortunately, G*, whom we thought would for sure be baptized was halted by the Word of Wisdom... He said he couldn't give up coffee after 60 years of drinking it. He told us, well if you won't let me be baptized if I drink coffee then this Church isn't for me. He ended it like that. He felt very offended and like we had turned our backs on him. Kind of a rough ending to such great lessons with him. He was angry that he had studied so much and that we hadn't told him about the Word of Wisdom until now. He feels like we just wasted his time. After that lesson, Anziano Petersen and I just sat in silence in the room for a while. It was hard to get the sadness from that away. It kind of put a bad tone on part of the week at least for me. Anziano Petersen is still keeping up his awesome energy to do this work and to find new people. He is a good guy. I enjoy serving with him, he teaches me a lot and is helping me grow in many places that I didn't know I needed to grow in. Great guy.

As for Ge* and E*, they are still progressing and things are going awesome for them! We showed up on the train in their town, Spongano, and they picked us up in the car and then just drove. We drove 5 minutes further than there house to a look out point over the sea and had our lesson there. That was pretty cool! It was actually the first time that I had seen the sea south of Brindisi. Anyway, it was great! We still need to overcome the Word of Wisdom and Tithing, but other than that, we believe we are in open waters. The 21st is looking promising, but we are thinking to maybe move it back just one week. We will see how our lessons this week go. They are a great family. They even came to Stake Conference in Taranto. That was awesome! Ge* also went to the Saturday session in Bari. He is really getting into reading the Book of Mormon and everything! We are happy with his progress! They are all great!

Well, that's about it... Oh, the conference was cool! It was transmitted from Switzerland and President Uchtdorf spoke. Also, driving with one of our members through the countryside on a freeway gave me weird de javu to driving on road trips in California. Anyway, that was pretty cool!  Well, I hope everyone is happy at home! Congratz on graduating High School Sam! Your are tight!

Well, love you all!

Sincerely,

Anziano Burton

Some pics, G* and us at the look out and some other stuff! The picture of the Ferrari is for Seth.
