Buongiorno Tutti!!!
Well the days aren't too cold down here...
And the cards aren't folding...
Lecce is seeing good things!
Another good week down in Lecce! It got a little more hot but things were still great! For our finding we have found a lot of success going and talking with people on benches in the parks here. We are having way more conversations and stuff and the people are a lot more interested in what we have to say. We have been getting a lot more numbers and other things, but we are still trying to get some new investigators. It seems that people don't like meeting in the Summer because they all go to the sea.
This week we had a good lesson with Ge* and E*. Ge* is planned for the 28th right now and we are confident that he will make it. He accepted the Word of Wisdom, he was a little hesitant, but so far he is holding out to Coffee and Tea, so we are happy with that! He seems pretty excited for baptism and is taking it on really well. The other day he was talking with some of his coworkers in the hospital where he works about the Gospel and God. That is pretty sweet! His wife is very happy that soon he will join her in the faith. It will be good for that family. E* is still trying to find an answer that this is right for her. We are beginning to enter into the commandments with her to help her find her answer. We are pretty confident that she will follow closely behind Ge* when she sees the baptism. She just needs to keep searching. Fortunately, she has a lot of patience. We are looking forward to this week when we will teach Tithing, (even thought they basically already know about it from the wife) It will be good. We can see the Gospel changing Ge*s life and he is happier than when I first met him.
Well, during one of our lessons in the park, we got a bit interupted. We were doing a lesson zero with another Albanian guy and we were trying to invite him to take the lessons... Then some girls walked up and asked us our opinions on the gay marriage issue. It basically ruined the lesson cause this girl sat down and just started a conversation with the guy we were teaching. It was truthfully sad to see some of her views. Her backing was this "Well in this modern world people are more open." It reminds me of the movie "The Testaments" when they say, "It's a new world order" haha. When she said that, Anziano Petersen and I just looked at eachother and were laughing on the inside. We were able to explain a little about what we believed, about how we believe in a God who is unchangeable and who has given a law that we must follow. Well, I did some more study on the subject in the next few days and I found some really good stuff that was very useful for me. I learned a lot about defending the faith that I have.
The World Cup began!!! Yeah, when Italy won at 2 in the morning the city shouted for joy... Luckily I slept through it haha. People are pretty into it though. It is cool and it will be even cooler when Italia wins it all!!! I am praying that America loses so that we don't get stoned in the streets or something. Also, I am pretty stoked about my favorite golfer Ricky Fowler getting second at the U.S. Open... Thanks for the update Dad! Love that!
Today I did a really cool study on Love and what it means. I learned a ton about Charity and how we can truly develop it. This study has helped me a lot today and I am really happy because of it. Well, that is about it for the day. I am happy and life goes on! Saturday we get transfer calls. Transfers go by faster and faster here. Like, it is all just speeding up. It is crazy! I love it here though! VIVA L'ITALIA!!!
Sincerely,
Anziano Burton
