To start off, I am still with Anziano Davids and we are getting ready for another six weeks of awesomeness! Cagliari is the best and we are so happy to be here for another transfer!
This week has been a really fantastic week in Caglieri! Anziano Davids and I have seen some amazing success! So, this week we set three more baptismal dates and we are really excited for the people who we are working with right now. Our investigator O* brought a friend named A* to both the lessons we taught this week and both of them have accepted a baptismal invite for the 16th of November. When they accepted they were both very excited and it was so cool to see the excitement on their faces. They both come from difficult backgrounds and both are looking for peace, happiness, and freedom in their lives. It was so incredible teaching them about the Atonement during our lesson on the Plan of Salvation. They are so ready to be free. We are very excited for them and there decision. The other baptismal date we set was with E* our African investigator. It is so incredible, he has such a great desire to follow Christ. When we invited him to be baptized there was a pause for a few seconds and he just looked at us and said "Of course, why not?" He is such a great guy and he has a powerful desire to make progress. I think that his answer should be used by all of us. When we are commanded to do something and we know that it is the right thing to do we should say "Of course, why not?" That is such a great response for us to use when we are asked to give up something or to do something differently. Truly, in the end the God will give us far more than we could ever get on our own and it all comes by us keeping the commandments and following the example of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
This is a member of our ward here in Cagliari.
This week Anziano Davids and I have been picking out the things that we could do better and that we could improve on. We have been trying to better ourselves and we have been seeing the blessings being poured out. It is incredible! This week has been probably the most successful week of my mission so far. It has been incredible seeing our investigators with the desire to change. Our investigator who already had a baptismal date, G*, is doing good. He is still having some problems but overall he is learning to grow and to accept the way that Christ has shown for him to go. He has such a good and simple desire to follow Christ and to be good. He has a good heart and he has completely dropped smoking and drinking. One set back this week was that G* was the only one who came to church. We were expecting all four people with baptismal dates to come, but only G* was able to make it in the end. That was kind of a hard thing to see. But this week has still been incredible.
On Sunday night we had a family of three come to the Church to have a lesson for English. The father, A*, the mother, M*, and the son, S* are all awesome. We began to teach them the english lesson that we had picked out before hand. It was about family and family members. We got to the end and A* told us that his brother had died when he was younger. We got to talking about the plan of salvation and how through Jesus Christ everything will be made alright. M* asked us why good people had to have trials and why bad things happened to good people. A* answered her question with, "Maybe the things that have happened to us were meant to lead us to this place with these young men." It was so cool! We invited them to take the lessons and to accept Books of Mormon. They did and they asked us where they should start reading from. We told them the intro and then we also suggested Alma 32. We are so excited for them! The Spirit was so strong during this lesson! They are fantastic! During the time that we were bearing testimony to them about the peace that this Gospel brings words were not coming to us that were adequate to describe it. A* stopped us and said, "It's ok, you don't have to tell us, we can feel it." During the closing prayer M* began to cry a little and the spirit was so strong. We are so excited for this family. They are awesome and so kind and so ready for this message. It is going to be incredible teaching them in the weeks to come.
Things in Cagliari are really going great and we are seeing the great success that is brought by obedience. It is incredible the power that comes when you do your best. I am grateful for this Gospel that we get to share. It changes my life and pushes me to grow every day. Overall, just an awesome week! Thanks for everything you all do!
