I am in Bari right now writing from the big city. Pretty cool!
Well, this week has been pretty hot, sweaty, and full of finding. We have had full days of being out on our feet looking for new people who are willing to hear the good news. It has been different, but not too terribly bad. We had a lesson with our two investigators G* and E* last week, but we didn't have it in the presence unfortunately and they weren't able to make it to Church this week, so it was sad. But, yesterday we taught them another lesson and we had G* set his own baptismal date! He decided on the 26th of July, so that will be pretty stinking awesome! We are setting up a baptismal interview and it will be so great! We are both very excited for that awesomeness. He has been taught all of the lessons now and he is ready. He has accepted the things we have commited him to. We think it will go really well. This week we were able to meet and help some members here with translating and stuff and that went well, but we haven't seen any referrals from it. From our street efforts we will be meeting with two people this week whom we met on the street last week, so that will be great and we are excited about that. Things in the Lecce branch are going along. Anziano Kennedy and I are getting along and we have been assigning talks for church this week a lot. It is getting hard because people are going out of town and we are running out of people who can give the talks. Luckily this last Sunday we had some guests come on vacation and they contributed by adding their testimonies to the meeting. That was cool and it brought the spirit really strong.
This week I learned some cool things about prayer and how the Lord will always respond to our prayers if they are sincere and from the heart. I also came to see that if our prayers are for the benefit of another it definitely helps the sincerity of the prayer. That was a cool thing that I learned this week.
Today we had a giant Zone Soccer game here in Bari. It was really fun to get out and run around a little bit. Tomorrow we will have zone conference, so that will be awesome to hear from President and everything! I am excited!
Well, that is everything that I can think of for now, hope all is well at home!
Sincerely,
Anziano Burton
